About

A room built on purpose.

Not a café that also sells pottery — a workshop for slowness that happens to serve exceptional coffee.

The Name

Two crafts, one instinct.

Crunchy Brew Co. and The Whimsy Clay were never meant to be separate businesses sharing a wall. They are one idea, expressed in two materials — coffee and clay both reward patience, both resist shortcuts, and both are better when made by someone who cares whether you come back.

The name itself is intentionally playful — a nod to the textures we love most: the snap of a fresh croissant, the crackle of coffee beans underfoot, the tactile grit of raw clay before it’s thrown. It refuses to take itself too seriously, even as the craft behind it is taken very seriously indeed.

The Whimsy Clay carries that same spirit into ceramics — handmade pieces sourced from a curated network of local Pune artisans, each with their own hand, their own glaze palette, their own small imperfections that mark a piece as made, not manufactured.

What We Believe

Four Beliefs, Plainly Stated

A daily ceremony

We believe a cup of coffee is a small daily ceremony — worth the extra ninety seconds it takes to pour it properly.

A hand remembered

We believe clay remembers the hand that shaped it. Every piece on our shelves carries a maker's name, not a barcode.

A room for everyone

We believe a neighbourhood needs a room that belongs to no one and everyone — not home, not office, the room in between.

Slowness, on purpose

We believe in slow mornings, good questions, and things made by hand — the three ingredients everything else here is built from.

Why Now, Why Pune

A gap worth filling.

Pune’s premium residential-commercial corridors are full of people who work hard and want somewhere unhurried to land. Café culture here has matured quickly — but pottery, live music, and community programming under one roof remains rare.

That gap is why Crunchy Brew Co. exists: conceived as a third place in the truest sense, not home, not office, but the room in between where a neighbourhood actually gathers.

“A neighbourhood needs a room that belongs to no one and everyone.”
